Hey,
[ Started November 28th, 2025] I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving with loved ones. I know I was happy to spend quality time with family away from social media (this is the first year where I did not post the antics, but instead used my digital camera to capture memories) . During this month, I decided to read the book of Ecclesiastes that was recommended by my sister. I can say that as of November 28th, I'm halfway through the book and there's a lot of takeaways that I've taken in during my Bible Study. In the first six chapters, Solomon tells readers about what is considered vanity. I noticed that there was a trend among these chapters... and that is going after money and other worldly possessions. When I read through the first six chapters, my eyes were opened with what was vain. I talked about this previously in a podcast episode that I used to consume a lot of items that was not connected with my spiritual walk. Since then, I've gotten rid of those items... and I can say that I feel good with the space that I'm in. These first six chapters were not only reminders for me to change my worldly thoughts on possessions I have; it has also changed my mindset too. I noticed as of lately that I don't feel the urge to post on social media as much as I used to. I'm enjoying the space that I'm in.
In Ecclesiastes 7 through 9, Solomon mentions ways to reduce vanity in our lives and the simple fact that we need to be merry and enjoy life. I take the pleasure of being merry and enjoying quality time with loved ones. Plus, I get to reset and recharge after work to prepare for Sabbath and the upcoming week. I would suggest you read the book of Ecclesiastes to delve into what could be vanity in your life and what you should press more into. Note that this is not me forcing change in your life right away; I understand that we all are a working progress in our spiritual walk 😊.
