What Fasting Has Taught Me

Hey,
I hope you're having a great day today. This blog post goes into my fasting and what I've learned while fasting. If you're interested on how I did it, then keep reading.

Before this blog post, I've fasted before church and would break my fast after a certain time. This would take place once a week. There was one time for the 2025 New Years challenge, my church and I would fast for a few days. This year, there was a consecration and the fasting was to take place for a week. I'm used to fasting food alongside my phone away from content and away from social media. Here are some insights I learned during this fasting season:

1. You're focused more on God than your surroundings. When I was fasting, I listened to my daily sermons and focused on the key idea of the day during my fasting time. During fasting, I meditated on the Word and kept my focus specifically on God and not anything else of this world. I'm not saying that I don't do this on a regular basis; fasting helps me to focus less on food and planning content.

2. You don't need food all the time. I fasted for a few hours before breaking my fast for lunch break and I can tell you that I felt great! I only had water for part of my fast and I was satisfied. I'm not saying not to eat for negative promotion; I feel having a light breakfast or eating two meals a day would be great alongside drinking water.

3. You gain insight on what you're praying for. I can say that I've gained clarity and insight on what to do regarding my prayer requests. I received insight through video sermons; Bible Study sessions, and devotions on what I've prayed for.

There are other kinds of fasting that you can participate in. Below is a video describing fasting and how you can participate.

If you'd like to know more on how I fast,  feel free to let me know.

When Hearts Touch

Hey,  I'm here with my first movie recommendation. It's called When Hearts Touch. This animated movie is based on a book that was already published in Nigeria. This movie is about a 9-year-old boy in a village who did not have money, but he had his parents which kept him happy. Sadly, both parents passed on...leading to Preye's struggle. During the struggle, Preye was searching for food...sometimes he would look for a job and receive food as part of his payment. It wasn't until Preye met the farmer when his life began to change. Here's a movie trailer so you could get a sneak preview 😊.  If you would like to watch this movie, you can find it on Tubi.

Vanities

Hey, [ Started November 28th, 2025] I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving with loved ones. I know I was happy to spend quality time with family away from social media (this is the first year where I did not post the antics, but instead used my digital camera to capture memories) . During this month, I decided to read the book of Ecclesiastes that was recommended by my sister. I can say that as of November 28th, I'm halfway through the book and there's a lot of takeaways that I've taken in during my Bible Study. In the first six chapters, Solomon tells readers about what is considered vanity. I noticed that there was a trend among these chapters... and that is going after money and other worldly possessions. When I read through the first six chapters, my eyes were opened with what was vain.  I talked about this previously in a podcast episode that I used to consume a lot of items that was not connected with my spiritual walk. Since then, I've gotten rid of those items...

Be Still by Cece Winans

Hey,  I hope you're having a great day today. In this blog post, I will sharing with you a song by none other than Cece Winans on being still and having God intervene in your life and move the pieces :). Below is the video, please enjoy.  In Psalm 46:10 from the Bible, it states "Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted into the earth." We, as God's children, need to be still for God is the true ruler of the Heavens and the earth and will have all things work out for our good. I will also share with you the lyric version below as well. Have a great day :).
